I am 6'6" tall, 215lbs. Does anybody have any advice on what would be a good bike that would fit me? I have been researching for about a year and it seems most manufacturers do not make a stock frame large enough to accomodate my size. I currently am considering a custom Crono by Guru. Any other ideas out there? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I am surprised that you cannot find a stock frame that will fit you. You are tall but not off the charts. Plus, any bike shop that has a bike in your size will sell it to you for a song. Your size would be a slow seller. You might want to look at Litespeed. Their frames are not quite as compact as say a QR or Felt.

bike09er,
I'll be following this thread closely. I'm in the same boat: 6'6" 225.

Thanks
Dan

If Serotta is in your price range this is my recomendation! Serotta, custom fit expert advice, by argubly one of the best bike builders in the world! I am 6'8" 220 pounds. September of 2005 I picked up my Serotta Couer di Acier. It was love at first site and the romance continues. Perfect fit, tailored fit, I ride a century with comfort and pleasure!

Serotta CXII steel frames are fairly reasonably priced. Though I think the largest Cervelo should fit you.

I just went through the sizing process and ordered (after LONG deliberation) a Serotta Couer di Acier from my LBS (Blue Sky in Saratoga Springs NY). Should be in in 4-6 weeks. It was a great experience, and am definitely looking forward to it!

Have you considered a custom from Lennard Zinn?

He is 6'6" as well...

go with the Guru, for the couple extra hundred dollars they charge you its great value + you can decide on your custom color scheme too.

but then i am biased, i race on a tri-lite and love it to bits. Mine's the dark grey metallic one on page one of the 'show us your tri bike' thread

I would check with your LBS -they will be able to recommend some sizing options. I too had problems finding the right fit I am 6'5 170lbs but have a longer torso and shorter than average legs (nothing freakish or anything) so i would not fit on larger bikes it was always an uncomfortable fit. I was fitted at my local shop and i currently ride a 58cm Scott with a 130mm stem and it fits me like a glove. I can spend days on this bike. I guess it all depends on how your built.
