Is anyone using the new-fangled chain cleaning rigs like Park Tools sells in their intermediate and advanced tool kits?

Comments...?

I bought a chain cleaner last month. I'm pretty sure it was from Park. I bought a gear brush with it, too. Anyway, it worked great. I hadn't had that chain cleaned since November, and it took off a whole lot of sludge! It came packaged with the environmentally friendly degreaser, too. It was about $25 from my LBS.

Btw, it was super easy to use. :D

I love my Park chain cleaner. Perhaps the best thing about it is that it is so convenient to use, I clean my chain regularly, every 200-300 miles. I use Simple Green to clean my chain. Works and smells great and no greasy feeling. I bought a bottle of the Parks Chain Bright, used it once and tossed it.

Thanks for the heads-up Rainman.

I've considered Park's or Pedro's chain cleaner because my wife is starting to give me a little grief about the mess I leave on the carport when cleaning my bike. ;)
Even though I clean the carport afterward, there is always a spot I miss.

I guess it's time to spend some more money.
I'm glad she supports me 110%.

RonH,
I highly recommend it. There is still some spillage and dripping, but if you use Simple Green, which is basically a super soap, everthing will rinse right off. Chain comes out all sparkly, like a holiday.

The Pedro's one is probably the best. With 104 rotating brushes it gets the job done very very well.

I just picked up a Parks model like Technogirl's (with the gear brush and bio friendly solvent).

Can't wait to clean every bike in the fold!

I use white lightning and never clean my chain (well, maybe once a year). Works excellent for me. YMMV

use turtle wax purple muscle to clean your chain, you get a big squirt bottle for real cheap, and it cleans the chain like no other.....good luck

Ron, Get a bike box form your local LBS, break it down, and put it under your bike when you clean.
