Along with extremely wide shoulders which required special order bars, it appears that my pedals are too close together and I'm getting a slight "wood chopping" effect when pedaling, especial in the Aero position. We've put spacers in the pedals, I have Look A-3.1's now, but my LBS doesn't want to put additional spacers in for safety concerns regarding the amount of usable threads in the pedal. Do you guys know of a solution, a pedal with a longer axle or one that has lateral adjustment, or can you put spacers in the crank?

I can tell I'm not getting efficient push because I can feel the pressure on the outside of my foot. If I tuck my knees in and get my foot flat on the pedal, I notice a substantial increase in power, but at the detriment to my knees.

Maybe have a look at the Time Impact S, Mag or Ti models. They have adjustable "Q-factor" although it is limited to 2.5mm. Just a thought.

You can get cranks with a wider Q factor. Spreading your current ones with a wider BB would disrupt the chainline.

Ditto MikeyW's post. Wider Q factor cranks.

Great thanks. I just found that LOOK makes a couple sets of adjustable Q-Factor pedals. If that doesn't work, I'll just break down and spend the $$$ for a new crankset.

Thanks guys.

Take a look at these (http://www.hostelshoppe.com/cgi-bin/readitem.pl?Accessory=983909612) . I hope the link works. It sounds like your spacers are different than these.

You know what? That may just be exactly what I need!!!! I knew there had to be an alternative to a $350 set of pedals.

Thanks a million... or at least $300!

Okay, apparently I was wrong. I asked the guys in the shop who warned me in no uncertain terms to stay away from those screw on adapters. They have seen the break several times. As much pressure as I put on my pedals, with my weight, and my tendancy to stand during acceleration, I was looking at becoming a meat waffle in a very short time.

I just ordered the LOOK CX-6 which has Q-factor adjustment like the $350 pair, but cost only $200. They have superior adjustability, plus they're carbon, so I think I it's worth it.
