If anyone is interested in learning about their traffic stats, and doesn't already have a way to monitor that, check out Google's free tools. I use Google Analytics for tracking, plus I have Adsense for a bit of revenue. I also use Adify.com for some pocket change.

If you're checking your ranking on Technorati, then you know how hard it is to get into the really low numbers. Check out the forums rating! Anyhoo, the easiest thing to do is swap links, or get mentioned on another site. This will increase your rankings pretty quick. I'm happy to swap permalinks with anyone, or give their blog a mention. Just let me know when you've linked, and I'll do the same. Any link to the forums is always appreciated as well.

On the subject of appreciation, don't forget that if someone's got adsense running, you're doing them a big favor by clicking any links that you find interesting. It's against their TOS to ask people to click them, but if you see something that catches your eye, go for it.

For those bloggers that are really interested in traffic and advertising, the shameless use of keywords can go a long way. Not the ones you slip into your html where the text is the same color as the background, save that for ebay. Keyword spamming is only a crime when it's totally gratuitous. For a post that could go either way, look at the tongue in cheek example I published today. Good for a laugh, if nothing else.

So if anyone has any questions, or tips of their own, do share. And if you want to swap links, let me know.

I linked to BF last year. Then they redesigned the blog thing and I did not put it back. It is now back on my blog.
