Foo - I've been published!!!

A photographer on the 2006 Michigander took a picture of me. When I crossed the finish line, I decided to run the final 300 feet, with my Giant over my head. This picture apparantly came out really well, because the League Of Michigan Bicyclists put it on the back cover of their 2007 ride calendar. For those of you who wonder why I'm admitting this, it lacks a view of my face:p

The only problem is, I've never seen the picture. I was only told of it by some lady that goes on the ride that I bumped into recently. When I emailed the LMB, they said I need to contact the photographer personally to get a copy, and that they won't email me a copy of the picture. I'm guessing its a copyright thing. I did email him, and he hasn't replied yet.

So basically, a **** load of people get to see a sweet pic of me, as in apparantly tens of thousands, and yet I don't even get a copy:mad:

But I'm working on it, and once I get a copy I'll post it.

Oh, and for what it's worth, I went to their website and requested a copy of this calendar. :p Maybe they have something in it for the UP.

Nah. All my shotgun shells are in Argentinian .308 cans with desicant packets. Its a pain in the ass to take them out.

I managed to get a low-def proof copy. Its not that great. I was hoping it was when I had it up flat, but I was getting ready to set it down, so the bike was right in front of my face, sort of making it look like I had a hard time holding it up.

At first I thought those shorts were a checkered flag, but, uh, guess not.

That guy is the official flag waver dude. The shorts go with the flags he has. He has 2 of them in that pic, and you can see one of them.

Cool pic. Actually, the second flag can be seen framed by the top tube and the down tube of your bike.

Um...you damn well better get a copy. I'd say that the picture is marginally identifiable as you, so the photographer has no right to publish it in a calender without your permission in the form of a model release. If it was used to report on the race for a magazine or something, then it comes under news, which is to a (very) large degree exempt from the model release requirement, but this isn't news reporting.

I'd push for at least a free copy, if that makes you happy.

But you can't tell if that is him or not. His face isn't showing. I mean.......who here besides me (and a couple of others) has seen his face? And who is to say that isn't his brother carrying the bike over the line while Mich is passed out over in a corner somewhere? :rolleyes:
