Mountain Biking - how much can slicks stand

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I just put Tioga City slickers (26x1.5) on my bike, I was wondering how much mountain bike stuff (like trails etc...) they can handle? I don't mean necessary for these in particular but slicks in general.

Spire, It depends on what you're riding, believe it or not, Ive used the same tire, well the Kenda version on the trails in the Don, its hard packed clay, and they rail. As soon as you hit grass, mud or loose stuff be prepared to immediately loose traction.

They should be able to handle light trail riding easily. Even a few jumps or drops.
I remember when I was a teenager we would use our road bikes on the same trails we road BMX and the tires were usually the last thing to go. (The frames ended up breaking before the tires gave out:D )
So your slicks or any slick should be fine off road.

I have trouble going uphill with slicks on loose gravel ...
