General Cycling Discussion - Old Standard 26" wheel

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I suppose there is no more manufacturing parts for those old standard bicycles...like tires and tubes,or are we just running on the left over inventory...and salvaging used parts were ever we can get em.
I know that fixing the old standard stuff is way tougher then the new standard stuff..esp. fixing flats is a real headache with that old standard:(

do you mean like the good ol' schwinn-esque 26x1 3/8 tire?
Surlely you all know what I'm taking about...the new standard measures threw axle to the outside of you tire which gives you 26"...the old standard measured threw axle to the outer edge of rim.
But checking back I was going to see if we should take a poll and see how many people are in favor of keeping old standard or tossing old standard..my vote is for tossing old standard
