It's just started raining outside and I can't go for a ride because I'm stuck here doing stuff for university that I have to do and cannot get out of. Life sucks sometimes.

I feel your pain man. The rain finally stopped here and the streets dried abit so I made myself get out on the bike. Hoping it would clear up and the wind would slow down.

Rode around town droppin in on some friends hoping to find some one to ride with. No dice. Everybodies workin'. :( Rode to my Mother and her new Hubbies house to chat. Hubbie ? Broken shoulder. Mother? Sick in bed. Bummed.

Thought about riding across town for some good joe. Wallet? Safe an sound at home. crap.

Brooding dark clouds looming, wind picking up. Defeated, I pointed my ride back home. That was my glorious day.

Sounds to me like you had more fun than your Mom, her hubby, or your wallet. ;)

I once heard a comedian say:
"Life is a swirling, sucking eddy of despair,
filled with brief moments of false hope,
in an ever darkening universe."

Reply:
"Gee Dad, if I can't have the bike all you had to do was say so!" :D

A friend of mine and I had planned to go riding this afternoon at 3. Woke up this morning, beautiful blue sky and warm. Noon, greyer and more clouds. 2pm sky is completely covered with dark grey clouds, rain and wind, power threatening to go out. :(

Another day sittin in the house watchin it rain.

Why stay inside when it's raining? Go out and get a BIGGER sense of accomplishment

I think Chris was actually itching to get out in the rain, but held back by uni commitments. I've never known rain to stop him previously.

That's right, but it didn't rain for long anyway, so I didn't really miss out on much.

It has rained here off and on every day for the last two weeks. Occasionally the sun peeks out then the rain scares it away again. Dedicated commuter that I am, I have ridden every day. I got rained on a little one day and lightly drizzled on from time to time but never enough to even get me good and wet. It was actually a blessing because it has made my rides delightfully cool. Normally, I would be "enjoying" 95-98 or more degrees F with high humidity. Yesterday was the first day I've ridden in sunlight during that time. Today my luck ran out, and I was rained on pretty much the entire 13 miles home. Still nice and cool, but I did get wet. Just part of the game. I still love every ride, wet or dry, hot or cold. Some are just easier to love than others. :D
