Hey all,
My silca floor pump just sudenly stoped working. It worked one day, the next day it didn't. Knowing they were made to be repaired, I took it apart and still cant figure it out. The problem is that no air come out of the pump strokes. While taken apart, I regreased the plunger and when the base is taken off, air will still not come out the the bottom of the air chamber, (which seems to deny physics to me).
Any ideas why its not working?

There is a ball check valve in the base under the brass hex nut that's under the pressure gauge. if it gets dirty and sticks, the pump won't work. Remove and clean it.

OK... So that wasn't that hard. Regreased/cleaned the bottom brass peice, still didn't work, so I streched the leather plunger and it set into the air chamber better and now its working very smoothly. Thanks Hillrider, I'm not shure if that "fixed" it but will definately work smother with the bottom cleaned. The pump is 10 ish years old and that was the first rebuild. I take it I wont ever need to replace it.
