I just got a '06 Kona JTS two weeks ago for $900. If I could've gotten the Jamis at $800 I would've jumped on the deal. Get it.

I rode it the instant the shop guy finished building it. My size (minor adjustments still needed though) and it rode really nice. Steel is Real! but it seemed a bit heavy (23lbsish?). Is that just a cyclocross thing?

sounds like a good deal. Not great a deal but definatley getting good value.

No. It's heavy because it's $800. The parts aren't the lightest, nor is the frame and fork. I had a Nova with D/A and Ksyriums that was 21 lbs. My Salsa with Ultegra and K SL3 race wheels is 18-ish...

Ended up buying the bike... $800 out the door and my ass was the first and only to touch the bike since being assembled. Overall the bike is nice and it will definitely serve as my touring/cyclocross bike.
