When I try to start a thread in the "Wanted to Buy" forum, I am told I don't have permission.

This "feature" was designed with the express purpose of preventing noobies from posting there. The noobies that haven't paid for membership that is.

It has nothing to do with how new you are. If you have a red star (temporarily blue for April Fool's Day) you're allowed to start for sale and want to buy threads. You get a red star by making a $25 donation to the forum. (link to info (http://www.bikeforums.net/payments.php))

Sorry you feel that way. There is a lot of good information here that is absolutely free. Actually, the only two areas that require the red stars are the for sale forums and the want to buy forums.
