At the time of this posting, I note that everyone with a star is now a blue star. A&S will really get interesting with this many MODS running around.

Except that you can't moderate, even so. Or are moderators simply going to be anonymous in the future?

Apparently none of us have mod priviledges either. Either that or mine have just been revoked.

You guys are colorblind, but then, most guys are. ;)

Purple, or perhaps Violet?

Indigo?

I think a GOLD star for Sheldon would be nice...but apparently he would be too modest to accept it anyway :) .

Now that we have Blue Stars, the mods will have to charge theirs to red.

Now the Red-bellied Sneetches had bellies with red stars.
The Blue-bellied Sneetches had blue upon thars.
The stars weren't so big; they were really quite small.
You would think such a thing wouldn't matter at all.
But because they had blue stars, all the Blue-bellied Sneetches
would brag, "We're the best kind of Sneetch on the beaches."

Ok all you new mods, what I need you to do is PM lowcel, our acting Moderator HR manager, and ask him about your new benifits plan. *mischevious grin*

No. All non-VC comments are hereby banished to foo, because they have no relevance to competent cycling.

If this is an April fools joke, I'm not laughing. I've always hated them, always will & I have good reason for it. I was injured & lost a good friend due to an April Fools joke played on the both of us by someone else that went wrong. Either make me a mod. or change my star back to red, now.

I seriously doubt that there is any physical risk involved in this type of April Fool's joke.

Now if there was a physical risk involved, I'd be right there with ya, but something truly harmless? Differentiation is a valuable skill!;)

Doesn't matter. It still brings back bad memories. I am asking the mods./admin. to please change my star back to red if this is an April Fools joke & not to include me in any more on this day of the year.

The sad thing is tonight on the news there will another story as there is every year on April 1st about someone who played a joke on someone else & someone was either killed or hurt as a result. THe person who played the joke will be seen being led away by the police. Why can't people just respect others & not do mean **** to them?

Deputyjones in all your years of law enforcment have you ever had to respond to a call where this happened? How about the others in your department? What about responding to any type of call that involves this day of the year? Even if someone did not get hurt, but let's say property was damaged as a result?

I read news report about someone who was hurt because of an internet forum post.

Wow, maybe we should stop posting as well...

This sums it up N_C. I have, of course, responded to "pranks" where someones property was damaged, and probably some where someone was hurt (I can't recall any specifics right now. I run a couple thousand calls a year), but that does not mean that we have to shun all jokes. We just have to use some reason about the ones we have concern about.

I just checked the mod queue - no reports of injuries from the blue stars.

I hope I never catch you wishing someone happy birthday or any sort of holiday salutations. My buddy had his arm removed by an IED on his birthday. Another friend of mine was killed Dec 24 in a motorcycle accident.

Making you a mod would be the best April Fool's joke. Seriously, if this place bothers you so much, just stop coming around. I would be happy to refund your member fee personally.

Well, if this is for real I am sad to hear it. You have done a good job keeping this place on track over the last couple months.

No problem. To make everything official just pm me your full name, mother's maiden name, social security number, bank routing number, three major credit card numbers including expiration date and csv number off the back. I think that should get the ball rolling.

Of course I may need to verify your cards so if you see a charge from Zipp or Campy it is just a formality.........honest! ;)

*note to anyone that may lack a sense of humor.......this is a joke!

Actually, not a bad idea for BF to consider implementing. Not an original idea, though; anonymous mods are used on some forums/discussion boards.

The anonymous Moderator (often also signing in in "Invisible Mode") may well have an advantage over the known to the user mod when confronting troublesome threads and the "bad actor" user. It's easier to effectively moderate a forum when the troublemaker(s) cannot see the Moderator coming, who they are, or know that they are there. ;)
