Anyone done this ride, or plan on doing this ride today?
tourist, I'm going today.
Last week it was about a 34mi route including Windhaven Rd and a few other short climbs. Fairly quick pace, but we stopped to regroup fairly often. I'm going to test out my legs and my Flyte once again after yesterday's speed fest with the RBM sat morning rides. See you up there if you come.

When you say fairy quick, can you quantify? My last outting left me feeling quite unimpressed with myself.
I cut the ride slightly short since jsharr had gotten dropped and had turned back to the truck but here's my stats for the ride:
25.91 @ 16.7 mph. I think the group finished with around 30mi now that I think about it as they rolled in before I left. Avg would have been a little higher had I stayed with the group the whole time, I solo TT'ed the steel gazelle into the wind to get back to XL Cycle to meet up with jeff. On road speeds ranged from 16 to 23 mph.

16-17 mph in the group is usually ok for me this time of year. Hills on the other hand will drop me like a rock!!
We regrouped after every climb. I was impressed with myself for my first time up windhaven and look forward to going at it again (if we do that route) on the Flyte.

That hill whips me. Also going up Marsh to Plano Pkwy and the one that always makes me say, "why does that kick my butt", coming up Town and Country towards Legacy right as you get past those houses and before Legacy. I hate early season!!!
The Marsh climb is decieving, it starts out steep but levels off some but not completely so you don't get any real relief to your legs and heart rate till you get most of the way to Plano Parkway. I used to do it on my mtb coming back from Arbor Hills. Both are important to get a good spin going at the base and shift before you get too bogged down.

Sorry Cuda I had to bag. Kids naps schedule wouldn't accomadate. I did ride 30 miles from the house. Avg 15.8 solo, not bad including Marsh and Windhaven climbs. Going north was sweet today!!
Just got back. Wind was a bear on the way back. 34mi @ 16.5mph, I was in the lead group. There were a few other packs of the DB that came in a little slower on the way back in.
