I pretty much totaled my rear wheel today in a circuit race, so I need a new one.

I had American Classic 350's, and I'll still be using the front one, but has anyone raced on, or used the DT Swiss Threat by Excel Sports wheel?

I'm looking at either that or potentially a Reynolds Alta Race (Aero Comp?) rear wheel. What do you all think? I have about 400-450 to spend.

The Swiss threat uses DT Revolution spokes, so if you're a big guy you might want to go custom to get different spokes.

You can't go wrong with the RR 1.1 and the 240s hub, though...

I think the Alta Race is a better value, I've had excellent luck with mine.

Big guy? Not quite, 5'10 130. I'm seriously looking at the Alta Race's, we'll see if I can just get a rear.

Voice of experience: stay away from the Revolution spokes on the rear wheel unless you are extremely light and/or are handy with a spoke wrench.
