As disucssed in RC_Spinner's new girlfriend, he means bike, thread, I think it's time for the second annual Dallas BF Member Meet & Greet for PIZZA! This is a chance for some of us to meet each other that haven't had a chance to meet for a ride, or have joined the forum recently. The plan is to meet at RBM Richardson and then head over to BJ's Pizza in Addison.
Find other cyclists on the boards who have simular fitness levels, or find ones who can push you to get better and go further.
Date and Time is open to suggestion and what works best for everyone. April 7th is out, but other than that I'm flexable.
EDIT:
Tenitive Date/Time: Monday April 9th, 7:30pm
Location: BJ's Pizza Addison. Located on Beltline Rd between Addison Rd and Midway, north side of the road, next to On The Border. I'm going to be coming from Windhaven and the tollway after my doc appointment, hopefully on time. Jeff, want to be co-organizer in case I run a little behind?

Uh, why don't you just meet at BJ's? Tell them you're coming and give them a head count and they'll probably put you in the back room. Just a thought.
Because it's easier for people who have never met before to meet in a large parking lot somewhere like RBM than BJ's. There is usually a method to my madness. But yes, having a head count ahead of time is needed.
Oh, and if we all meet at RBM it gives some of an excuse to buy those few odds and ends we always need. Or just to cruise through and see what's new. :P

Count me in! Most days are cool with me, advance notice for a weeknight so I can clear out of work is cool too!

I'm game, depending on date & time.
Ok, for me Tuesday and Thrusday evenings are tough due to class. Other than that all evenings after 5pm are more or less wide open (other than this coming Saturday evening for my birthday). Evening of the 14th could work, but I know that the PBA has a long ride that morning and I'm going to be driving out to Mt. Vernon for a ride out there as well.

I am game. Weeknights are the best for me. Mon and Fri are rest days.
How about we meet at a local group ride instead? Get to ride together...yeah baby.

Im there. Unless its 4/13 or 4/14, Tuesdays, Thursdays, or Sundays.
The plan is to meet of the bike and find other riders near your fitness level to ride with in future times. While it's great to get a big group together, when you have some riders who are comfortable at 14mph, some at 17mph, and some at 21mph the group gets split up pretty quick. Unless everyone knows the route well and all agree to a common relaxed pace I think the food idea is good for *this* get together. :) Plus who doesn't love pizza and beer once and a while?

Sounds good. How is a Monday for everyone?
This coming monday I have a Doc appointment at 6pm (Just made it this morning, but it's one I really don't want to put off any). If we did it a bit later I could be game.

None of that domestic crap, unless it's a good microbrewed ale. My fave though is Chimay Trappist ale. All the flavor of beer with twice the nomral all-kee-holl. Drink up!
BJ's has plenty of micro-brews. Haven't had many, but I'll guarentee I'll be having at least one on Monday!

Monday the 9th, 7:30. good for me!
now, where is BJ's?
Beltline between the tollway and Midway. I plan to meet anyone who wants to follow me over at RBM first unless we all just want to head straight to BJ's.

Kevin - we'll be sure to drink a beer for you. ;)
Stray Cat - good to hear, see you there.
I'm just hoping my doc appointment goes well and I don't end up showing up with a fresh hole cut in my leg or anywhere else. (Demotologist melanoma screening appointment, they've been known to take core samples from me thinking they'll strike oil or something before.)

No biggie. I'm not a drinker so y'all have a few for me. We normally have some pretty good grub at our meetings. We will be discussing race stragies so there is no way I am missing this meeting.
Y'all have fun...

Sounds Sweet BJ's on Monday...please accept my RSVP
Got a list going of those who are in on the original post so I can get a rough head count. I'll call Monday morning and give BJ's the heads up that we'll be coming. Do we want to make the decision to meet at RBM first or straight to BJ's?

50/50 chance depending on how Monday goes.

I think we should meet at BJs. Theres no telling how much time it would take to get the group in and out of RBM. If we meet at BJs it would maximize our time to visit, since on a weeknight some of us wont want to stay out too late.
Ok, I've got enough people saying that BJ's works best, and I'll agree there. I'll put the reservation name under Fischer, and will try to get there as early as possible to meet up with everyone.
put it under Explody Pup!
As a bonus, there is a possibility of the unveiling of my completed Serotta frame that evening. :D

Cool! I won't be there Monday but I would like to see your finished frame. You got any pics???
No pics yet, David is going to be bringing it with him to the meet-up, so I'll be seeing it for the first time since it looked like this:

the same time as everyone else. :) I plan on having a camera handy for photos of the frame and everyone who comes. That way you can see everything you missed out on! :p
For those not following the build, this is the color it was painted:

That was a fast turnaround!!! I am interested in his work because I just bought a new track frameset and plan on painting my old one and using it as a fixed gear for the road.
I wish I could make it Monday night but I have quite a few races coming up and I really need the knowledge that my other teammates pass onto us CAT 5's in our meetings. One of our main topics is track racing and that is what I will be doing the most of this year.
Cool deal, I'm just giving you a hard time. I dropped the frame off on Feb 27th, took a bit of time for David to get through his back log of work and up to my frame, but once he got it stripped and going it's a quick turn around indeed. Everything I've seen of his work has been fantastic. Lotek and at least one other BF member has had him paint frames, and I've seen a few other recent jobs when I've been down to his shop.

There's a guy locally who paints frames? Does he want more work?
David Cheakas: http://southwestframeworks.com I'm sure he isn't about to turn down any work. Great guy, he comes through BF's fairly often.

I'd love to, but for the next couple of weeks I'm going to lock myself away in the library until this term paper on Robert Frost gets finished. Be sure to have a guinness in honor of underage alcoholics everywhere!

 Good luck on your paper. I've got less than two weeks on my semester left as well, which means little riding for me till the 21st.
Team meeting here too! Same one as Kevin...

Ok, since we're all meeting at BJ's, I've sent out my cell phone number to everyone who's stated they're coming. I'm going to call and make a reservation here in a few hours. In hopes of some of the newer members recognizing the group, here's few of the ugly mug shots I've got of some of those who will be there tonight:
