MABRA is pleased to announce that after years of patient negotiations with the DC Sports & Intertainment Commission and the US Park Service, a deal has been reached to organize a bike race at Hains Point in 2007 and 2008.
The 1st inaugural Hains Point Grand Prix will take place on Sunday 4/29.
MABRA is especially proud that with the help of the DC Sports & Entertainment Commission, the DC Chamber of Commerce, the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, 18 participating businesses, and the cooperation of 4 racing clubs, the D20 region will have a showcase event with prize money in excess of $42,500 plus merchandize. The title sponsor of the 2007 race is Fuddruckers. Negotiations are still in progress regarding 2009 and 2010.
Because of time constraints imposed by the Park Service, there will be no junior or Cat 5 races.
Registration opens next week on bikereg.
