I have been commuting for just about three weeks here, in car filled Southern California, and I just discovered that I am whistling to myself every time I get to work. When I drove, I was upset, the hair on my neck stood up and I was trembling just about everyday, on the same trip, just because of the ugly things some of the drivers do here to others. Now, I guess with a tall order of endorphins, it is a pleasure when I get here. The drivers ignore me, because I am too slow to work out their agressions on me, so I am in heaven....

Good for you !

What is your route in So Cal? I've just started commuting from the South Bay to Santa Monica a couple of times a week as well.

I am more south of you, traveling from Laguna Hills to Irvine and back.

Know the feeling, it's pretty cool isn't it? And it's even better going home when you aren't stuck with all the other people in their steel coffins in the moving parking lots baking in the sun. What I enjoy most is being able to find different routes home or to work, adding miles, bettering myself, each week a new personal best.
Welcome to the club.

I agree with the above. While my commute is fairly short, I try to get out early, sometimes with a few others, for a reasonable ride before work.

So at work, I might be a bit tired, but I've had a huge buzz from the early morning ride. Maybe its watching the sun come up or something.
