Any Jewish riders out there? What do you do during Passover? How do you choke down enough matzoh to keep your carbo intake up? How about rides? Six farfel muffins in your jersey pockets?

Clif bars are wheat-free. Does that count?

Clif bars are wheat-free. Does that count? They have rice and soy, so no good for observant Ashkenazi. However, we become Sephardic at Passover, so we just avoid leavening and flour. So Clif bars are fine for us. Actually we eat a Mediterannean diet, so we are dietarily Sephardim all year, though we are Reform and so don't keep kosher. How's that for complicated?

Well, considering that I was gonna add that the rice was fine for Sephardics, which I'm not, but I figure that some folks are, so why can't I eat what they eat?

oats are ok right? If you're an observant Ashkenazi, no they're not. If you're not sure what's OK and don't have a Rabbi, mom, or aunt to ask, you'll just have to figure it out for yourself. The Wise Child asks, "What is the significance of this?" If you were at my seder we could have talked for a couple of hours about it. If you're interested, look into it and decide your own level of observance. I don't eat flour or leavening, or anything made with flour or leavening except for matzah. I stop there. Many people go much, much further.
And to manual - yes, we have a lot in common. I think that's why one sees so many Jew-Catholic marriages.

Avoid all this regional complication. Read Masechet Pesachot (part of the Mishnah) and see what the basics are.

Well then ask someone who agrees with you. But then again, that would be pointless now wouldn't it. But what do I know, I am an atheist. I eat what I want.

I just believe in getting free, which Pesach commemorates. From the Buddhist perspective, what's Right Wanting? Ice cream after every dinner? Yummm. Love ice cream. Do we really eat what we want? Do we get what we want? Do we know what that is? If not, how can we learn what that is? That's all that this thread is about.

Sounds about right for any of the major religions. Most people who claim to practice a certain religion actually know nothing about it.
I am having hamburgers for dinner. :)
