Hey I am considering buying a 07 DB response comp. I am looking to do trail riding and commutes to work. Bike includes Marczocchi MZ-comp 120mm fork, Avid BB5 brakes, SRAM X7 front and rear deraileurs.

great for trails but that fork (120mm without lockout) and heavy/boxy tubing may make it too much for commuting. If you are buying from a Local Bike Store, see if they are willing to swap the fork for a fork with Lockout or ETA. may be about 100mm travel. it may not add any cost to you, depending on the store and brand of the fork.

Overall, that is a good trail bike for that price.

I have the 06 version. It makes a good commuter (you'll want slick wheels).
