Classic & Vintage - building a repair stand

After decades of working on the floor I would like to build a repair stand.
I am a decent fabricator and have a variety of welders to choose from in my shop.
Does anyone have any pics of a stand they built or bought. Plans?
Any help appreciated.

the easiest stand to build would probably be a european type stand that clamps the bike by its dropouts with one wheel removed.. these stands are also my favorite stands..

I really like the stand that clamps the front fork.
I am going down to the metal yard for some light gauge tube and see what I can come up with.

I have 2 coat hooks screwed into the joists of my basement cieling about 4 or 4.5 feet apart.

I have 2 length of light rope with hooks in one end and 4 knots spaced evenly from the other end.

Hooks attach to the h-bars or stem in the front and the saddle, post or rack in the rear.

The distance between the hooks means the bike self centers between them.

The knots are used for easy height adjustment.

I know, I know.... If I were a welder, I'd be asking, "So where's the fun in that?"

I like that design ^ too. I could make such a thing from wood, or bamboo maybe?

I don't mind things made of wood but I would much rather work with metal than wood.
I'm not much of a carpenter but I have a new Lincoln mig I want to try out!

Sweet and simple pinnah. I'm gonna make a workstand based on that inspiration today. :)

I have an old indoor trainer that I use. Front wheel removed back rest on a roller. Put it on a work bench done.

LOL! I've been "hanging" my bikes too.

But I think I am going to sacrifice a couple of those hi-ten frames collecting dust in my garage and make a stand.
