I didn't see this poll the when it was first posted. I would have asked, as a two-time qualifier, if my vote would have counted twice. (It would have been for Club Tombay)

On both occasions, it was a simple cause. I lost my mind. Both times, when coming to a stop, was distracted by conversations with other riders, and it didn't even occur to me to unclip. Did the slow roll to humiliation.

I'm sorry, I am a stupid, I cannot brain today.....

I've been riding for years. I have fallen about once a year. The most embarrasing time was when I was coaching a High School Track team that my two son's were on. We had a meet about 30 miles from home so I put my bike in my wife's car so I could ride home after the meet. There were other coaches riding the buses, so I was not required to be on any of the buses. After the meet was done and the athletes were collected and steered to the buses, I changed and got on the bike and took off for home. About 4 miles down the road I needed to make a left turn and got into the turning lane following car. Right at the light, the girl in the car, hesitated while turning and I slowed down to a crawl then fell over with the bike. Guess what was on my right at the light? Yea the bus, and with all my athletes watching. Monday's practice proved to be interesting...

Just last Saturday I was near the end of a 105 mile ride when some friends had trouble crossing a highway. About 1/2 of the group got thru the intersection. I got across and was just slowly pedaling while waiting for our group to reform. I turned my head and bike to get a look behind when the front wheel hit a little stone. It was if someone lifted my front wheel out from under the bike. There was not any time to unclip, I just had to go down with the bike. I did tear up one of my gloves and yesterday discovered the rear derailer hanger is bent. Hopefully that was my fall for this year.

I have not yet fallen. I have also not been on the bike. I'm still visualizing the process.

No film at 11:00! I have been on the bike. I love it and the pedals. No falls. Yet.

If I had only known that I would fall. A friend caught this picture. http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee21/f_thomas_2007/BicycleAccident.jpg
