...to the South Sioux City Public Works Dept. I did this yesterday. I presented the slide show & hand outs. The slide show is from the Complete Streets web site & the hand outs are copies of a Complete Streets Policy from Cascade, Iowa & copies of some pages from the most recent Amiercan Bicyclist Magazine, put out by the League of American Bicyclist. This issue has the list of communiites awarded the Bicycle Friendly Community status from 2006. South Sioux City is a a bonze level.

They thought I did a good job & are moving forward with it. It is something that will eventually be voted on, whether or not to adopt a policy. I will be called back to give another presentation, I think this will be to the entire city council, etc.

I stuck to the facts, left emotion & personal feelings out of it as was advised from people here. Thank you for that advice. I look forward with continueing with this as well. I am glad I am helping South Sioux City potentially adopt a policy.

I have a feeling it will happen because 2 of the members are pro-active people in the community. One of them is who the trail system is named after. It is a combination of trails & on street bike routes. The other person is all for ideas like this if it will benefit the community.
