I have more old chains than most of you have spokes.

I want to weld one or two of them to make something interesting for my office at work. Please submit your ideas...

The winner gets... hmmm... a "thanks" in my sig? I'm open to suggestions here too.

I could send you one of my old chains. Look, free art supplies!

That's actually kinda cool for the office.

Rules change: we can also use old cogs in this art project...

Thinking of taking some outer plates of a link and threading some earing hoops through them for the lady - I've seen this done a few times, most recently and notably by the cute girl mechanic in the May Bicycling. Easy, cheap, instant dangly earings. Also, I've been trying to find a coin with the right circumference to fit a section of chain around. Half dollars and quarters, among other foreign coins, haven't worked out yet.

Hmm, I'm going to make one of these on the side. It will now be the prize. A chain whip made from nothing but a chain (and some welds). So the bar will just be welded links.

So, hook me up with an idea -- the frame is in the lead -- and you get a chain-chain whip.
