Its official, I have commited by just signing up!

I have been running on the treadmill for about 6-8 weeks and ran outdoors twice now that the weather is getting better...man running isn't nearly as much fun as riding! My legs are a different kind of sore from running outside!

I have another friend that is going to do it with me. He is a swimmer so he's going to teach me how to do that and I am teaching him the basics of riding.

Cycling is still my primary focus but really looking forward to this new adventure...and hopefully dropping the last few pounds I never can get off with just cycling.

Anyone else doing it?

Heard the course is packed and getting places is difficult. Just a heads up, good luck and let us know how it goes.

its a helluva lot of fun, very big, very busy, the swim can be crazy and the run from swim to T1 is the longest i've encountered, but it is well worth it. I've raced chicago the last four years, but this year my A race is steelhead half ironman.

pray for nice weather and no wind, the Lake Shore Drive bike course is totally flat, but can be brutal with the wind coming off the lake.

That's great to hear thanks!

I assume you wore a wetsuit?

Good luck at Steelhead!
