I am not quite sure I have understood the question, but do you want to use an ahead stem with the Radius Telescope adjustable handle-post? If this is the case you would either need to grind off the Pro-Lite Revolve QR and then you could bodge an ahead stem (1 1/8) to the tube. Personally, I would get a quill adaptor and stick that in the handle-post and then fit an ahead stem.

You are looking for a longer reach I take it?

Caveat - see how the fold is compromised first though before you start attacking your bike with power tools (that is why the 2nd option is my preferred choice)

No they don't. There is the Syntace system (clamps and a stubbie), but this gives you only 40mm or so extra reach. I have a 130mm quill stem in my handlepost.

Remember that the longer reach will put you even farther forward on respect to being over the the front axle. This may make the bike feel less stable. I made my Speed P8 feel better by lowering the handle bars (had to cut the post), and replacing the seat and post with one that allows the seat to go farther back. I was pleased with the results, as it does not compromise the fold, and gave me a fit much like my road bikes.

Here is one stem extension mod (http://bikeforums.net/showpost.php?p=3348675&postcount=287). But as F&T pointed out, such a conversion can widen the fold considerably. I twist the front wheel around 180 to achieve the best fold of the handlebars, but I also don't have cables to deal with either.

The position is great... however, pulling on the bars created a creak I was not happy with, and I verified that it was coming from the handlepost, probably where the handlepost is "bolted" to the fork.

I have a different stem now - it has 15 degrees of rise and clamps 40mm risers as opposed to the 30mms in the picture. This provides a less aggressive position for commuting.

Dahon did make an adjustable quill stem with more forward reach and it *may* still be available from some dealers (http://airportshoppe.com/bikes/microadjust_stem.html). No guarantees, I got mine back in 2004, and not from that dealer. Here's a 2003 Dahon speed pro with the zoom quill stem. The nice thing about this stem is that you can make it go straight up and it will not compromise the fold. It does take longer and a 6mm allen wrench.

Here is the same folding section of stem with an ahead stem attached for a little more reach (on a different bike). There is plenty of reach with the zoom stem on the speed pro.

for this mode, it took a 25.4 diam tube and a 1 inch ahead stem. I've just installed an even longer stem on this bike and the stem was an ahead stem for a 1 1/8 inch fork, this required a 1 inch to 1 1/8 inch shim.

Thanks for the helping hand. But it looks like it only rises to 150 degress not 180. Then again, it isn't clear what the base is; i.e., where is zero degrees?
