Living Car Free - Being Late

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I hate being late for interviews. Now im going to prolly be at leadt 5 MINS late! I was supposed to be 15 mins early but when I came outside the bus had just passed. The missing link in the chain is I dont have a bike at my house. If I did...I'd be to the train station in probably less than 5 mins. But since I dont the next bus doesnt come until 11:08...wish me luck..I have to be to the interview at 12.

You're screwed. Good luck explaining to your would-be boss that car-free doesn't make you unreliable. :D
I don't get it you are on here saying your going to be late?
Stick out your thumb.

I'd be determining other ways to get myself promptly to an important interview rather than going online to BikeForums to chat about it. Shoot, just walk to the train/bus station.
Get a bike. You could probably find one for less than $40 if funds are short.
When you take the bus, get to the stop a few minutes early. It's better to wait in the cold than to be late.
If you have something as important as a job interview, take the earlier bus to avoid last minute time crunch.
Lack of planning on your part does not constitute a crisis on a would-be employer's part.
The "missing link" sounds like a need to blame the bus for your own lack of responsibility.

I have to agree...ultimatly anytime i've been late (baring an act of God) it's been my fault.
Now i'm older i always admit when i've been irresponsible or late due to laziness or lack of planning..but hey it happens. There are way more worse things to have happen to you..
