I posted this before as a Velo but have been told now it may be a highend schwinn. The bike was painted in 86 and is an 85 or 84. The lugs look like the ones on my 85 tempo and the forged dropouts with the derailer hanger look kind of the same too. This frame has the cable routing under the bottum bracket.

Dude, it's the '80's! I have a sudden urge to grow big hair and listen to some Duran Duran ...

That being said, I have no idea what it is, other than a nice looking frame that needs paint.

Heh, gotta love the seat tube decal that says "Decal", that coupled with the paint job -whom ever owned that bike sure had a sense of humour.

is this the sample paint bike someone was talking about? you I am guessing? That is what it looks like, to show customers all the possibilities.

It looks too big, but I have to ask...

What size?

If it is 56-58 cm, and we can work a deal, it would be in the Livestrong ride in August. ;)

EDIT: Pretty theft proof too... :)

That reminds me of my Armstrong 3-speed, which I converted to a 12-speed with a 4-speed Benelux/Cyclo cog block. I spray painted the fork white and wrote "JUNK" down each blade. It was immortalized in a photo in the UCLA Alumni Associaton magazine.

Exactly! But who's the painter?

yes this is the paint sample frame. It was painted buy Brian Meyers owner of Fresh Frames. I'm told that he painted for some of the pros back in the day. The seat tube is 62cm. There may be a couple more similar frames around, thay were hung in shops to get jobs. This one was in a shop on orange st Lancaster Pa until it was bought by Tom Pod,in 94, owner of cycle circle on N Plum st Lancaster. So whare are the schwinn guys? What models had forged lugs with the derailer hanger and cable routing under the bottum bracket? And came in a 62cm frame? Its too big for me but I just wanted it. Asked tom once a week for a year if it was for sale yet, saturday he said ya .

I'm not sure what to do about a fork.Just crome maybe unless I can find an artist with a good idea. He would have to be good like a Dr. of painting
