Mountain Biking - man

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Bikes + FL = reason I'm moving to Denver.
Whatever you do, don't start riding trials. Unless you enjoy riding alone.
South of the Orlando latitude, there are maybe 3 riders. 1 rider (me, duh) between Hillsborough (Tampa) and Pinellas Counties.
There are some decent trails though. If you can get up here, Alafia is nice. Boyett and Flatwoods/Morris Bridge are decent starting points if you are newer to MTB. Never been to Carter Road, but I hear its not too tough.
Edit: That pic is from Santos. Never been there either, but I hear Ocala is a good reason to travel. Don't forget about the T.O.E. in lakeland either.

I just rode Alafia on Friday and again on Sunday. Great place for all levels of riders.
Carter Road is a lot of fun, but gets washed out in the rainy season. T.O.E. is membership only and prone to flooding, but they have a jump park from beginner to expert.
Santos is probably Florida's Crown Jewel. IMBA sent a trail crew there and they did a lot of work. Killer trails and on-site camping (limited and first come only - but Ocala Nat'l Forest is close by).
I've never been to Oleta, but I hear it's pretty good. Quiet Waters closer to Palm Beach used to be a great place to ride, but I think one of the Hurricanes destroyed a lot of it and don't know if it ever got rebuilt.
