Did you know the GWB south side is closed again? My ride is going up there again and I'm thinking of skipping it this week. It just isn't worth the hassle.

I have never ridden a bike or walked over the GWB. How difficult is the path on the "north side" of the bridge? Enough to make the bike trip "not worth while"? Since I am still a "slow and low milege clyde" I have never had the need to cross over into Jersey.

If you are using recessed SPD cleats or toe clips, it's easy. You just have to climb a few flights of stairs.

If you're waddling around in LOOK cleats, well, maybe that's another story.... ;)

It's technically only 3 flights of stairs cause you can get on the roadway going into NJ then hop over the guard rail and skip the first set of stairs. All my bikes have SPD's so I'm good. :p

11am at GWB on sat?

I might be up for Saturday. Depends if a Sunday ride pans out. The stairs on the north side of the GWB aren't fun in Look type cleats, but you can still do it.

Just did a couple of laps in Central Park. Geez it's still friggin cold. Isn't it supposed to be Spring, already?

Matty, the ride up through the Palisades is fun. Even if you do it slowly. Lots of hills and really nice views of the Hudson.

Can't do this ride. Too many things to do on Sat, plus a ride on Sunday.

Actually, I'm probably gonna wake up late so if they end up leaving at 10:30, I'm up for an 11am trip. We'll see in 6 hours.

Most likely up the west side path.

I was flirting with meeting up but I don't think I'm in shape enough for you - you'll still smoke me on some of those hills :) Been getting some good saddle time but I think I have to change out those handlebars with a different design before I go for more than a three hour ride.

Going to the Riverside Dr ride at night?

I'm taking the fixed gear, so if you can average like 17-18 on the flats and 15 going up the pp hill, you'll be fine. It is about 4 hours but it's only 2 hours or so each way, so it's not too bad. Plus we'll be stopping for lunch. :)
I dunno about the riverside ride at night, still debating on whether I wanna wake up at 4am for the race sunday morning.
