Hello Historian,
There is a bike store up in Trappe that last time I checked had weekly rides posted. I cannot remember the bike store's name, and I have not been there for a few years (moved to southern Chester County), but it was a very nice store.

Bikesport. They sold me my bike. I agree with your comments regarding the store, except that the weekly rides aren't suited to beginners.

I'll have to look you up at the Gals With Gears ride, I signed up for this year for 25 mile route. I'm in Pottstown, but usually ride west into Berks County, and especially the Oley Valley. I'm not fast, but on my road bike I do manage 12 to 13 mph average and like to ride about 20 miles per trip. However I can meet you some time with the hybrid bike and ride the Schuylkill River trail from Pottstown west, till you wish to turn around. Weather not looking good for next 10 days, the unpaved trails will no doubt be too soft. If I find you at Gals with Gears I have a flyer for a bike ride I organized in Oley Valley for May 12th. 10 mile short route, 18 mile long. Many of the riders are casual riders, with my sister being the slowest. So I'm sure you will be able to keep up with somebody. (Sister rides about 7 mph). A very basic ride, I put together a route and mark road. No charge, no rules. Start/stop at restuarant, buy your own food.

We may look like twins at Gals With Gears. I checked your blog. I'm just 1 pound lighter at 249. I usually wear my Jelly Belly team jersey. Seems appropriate name in my case. A bit cooler then its a yellow or medium blue jacket. Found this ride last year, but on day of event it was a cloud burst. I didn't prepay so stayed in bed. This year I prepaid so have to show to get my T shirt. (for the daughter). My bikin web site is at:
