I'm looking for a 80's - 90's steel road bike just to have something to play around with. Found this one for sale locally, but I honestly don't know what a fair price might be. Looking for some insight.
Van Tuyl Road Bike w/ Campagnolo Record
Asking $350
Here's the add:
Great parts bike
Older Van Tuyl Road Bike
Colombus frame and fork in ok, poor condition
Campagnolo Record equiped
- Brakes w/ finger shifters [looks like downtube shifters from the pics]
- Cranks
- Pedals
- Front and Rear Derailleurs
- Hubs
- Seatpost
- Headset
Here's what the seller said in an email:
The bike is certainly rideable but the frame, which is Columbus tubing, is older and in ok condition (several scratches and a small dent in one of the tubes). The greatest value is in the Campy Record Componenets but again the bike is very rideable. In its day, it was a pretty sweet bike, obviously Van Tuyl is Dutch and they built excellent bikes.
