Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

When I watch at home the picture often freezes, though the audio continues.
We have the fastest DSL service our phone company provides to our area, but it's not the fastest service that exists.
Has anyone else experienced the picture freezing?
I'm just wondering whether it's our service, or the signal Cycling TV provides that causes the freezing.

Bandwidth issues?
Mine does not do that. But remember that sometimes the disruptions are the signal, not a computer issue. By signal, I mean the one transmitted from the motorcycles and camers there, to the helicopters, etc...weather, trees, all that will disrupt a signal that has nothing to do with the computer/internet functions.
check the bottom right hand corner for the server connection status.
I find with big races live, there are serious bandwidth issues, but its still better than nothing.

I've found that if you set your connection speed one click slower than what it gives you on the test, it helps cut back on the freeze-ups.
Also: Tour of Flanders, live on Sunday! Woot!

I had picture/audio freeze, but never just picture freeze. Went away when I kept the same bandwith but switched to a different one of their server options (just had to experiment)
But today it froze 3 times at the same place when I was running the rerun of the DePanne time trial, I'm guessing it was a problem with their feed as it froze exactly the same place.

I was somewhat annoyed that they dropped the 400 kbps rate as that's what I could typically watch without freezes. Last few races, though, the 800 kbps rate has been coming in flawlessly. Hopefully that continues for the foreseeable future.

Thanks for the information. I watched the 3rd stage of De Panne last night and it didn't freeze a single time. So who knows what's going on? And yeah, it's a lot better than nothing. And on a monthly basis it's really cheap.
