So I will be doing that RR this weekend, because I hate myself. It will be 63 miles of crappy pavement and signs "Trespassers will be shot". I am figuring about three hours for cat5s? I think two bottles with GU2O (24oz each) and a flask of Hammer Gel should do it. Will that be enough or should I bring another bottle in my jersey pocket? Haven't seen anything about feeding zone in the flier and at any rate don't have anyone to provide it anyway. This will be the longest RR I have ever done. Very nervous about it.

i've heard that the descent is VERY bumpy and fast = minefield of orphaned bottles. I'd be cautious of carrying extra water in your back pocket. Plus, that's what, 3 pounds extra on each climb?
My experience is limited, but i haven't been to a velopromo race yet that hasn't had neutral water bottles.

I'll be there in the 35+ 4/5 race. It's slated for 2 laps so 42 miles. Gonna be a hurt-fest for sure.

I'm out. It's the day before Easter and I can't get out of the various Easter egg hunts. I got a pass from my wife but couldn't overcome the combined guilt trip from my mom and my daughter. Waaaah. Poor me.

Enjoy the race, guys. I'll eat a Peep for you.

I don't know if there is neutral feed or not, but my dad will be there to hand me a bottle on my 3rd lap.

If it's cool, 2 bottles should be plenty, but if it's hot, I'd cary a 3rd. I'm a bit concerned about my Bontrager plastic cages holding the bottles. If I can find a couple Al ones I may swap them out.

3 year old bump for tomorrow's excitement.

Once again it falls on the day before easter, caloso. Coming this year?

I'll be in the E4s if anyone is coming

45+ 1/2/3. See if I can improve on 2nd last time I did this.

On the other hand...chains required over the summit. That turns a 3 hour drive into a possible 6.

Looks like I'll pass and do the local crit stuff.

Nope. I'm out. I got dropped by the 4's last year. There's no way I can hang with the 3's or the M123 this year.

looking forward to doing 4 laps with the 3's. Almost hoping it rains to make it an even more epic race.
