Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. I am going to the sea otters classic and I have already reserved accomadations, however, I'm not sure how good or bad they are:eek: I do not wish to pay a fortune but I don't want to be in a dump either. I have reserved a room at the comfort inn on fremont and also the discovery inn. If anyone knows of these and can shed some light I will appreciate it OR if you have any recommendations that too will help. :o

Hey there nygirl...

Comfort Inn is in a reasonable area but the hotels along that spot tend to be older... I did see a review that said their room was a bit smelly...

Don't know much about the Discovery Inn but Seaside tends to be a bit less touristy and lower in cost.

Sorry, probably not much help, but I thought I'd throw in my .02 :p

I'm sure it'll be just fine.... that was just some schmo's rating online. Besides, I doubt you'll be doing much more than sleeping there anyway!

I'm looking forward to hearing what kind of trouble you got yourself into over there! ;)

Too late :) I chickened out and got a room at the Marriot Courtyard in Salinas.....I just hate creepy old, possibly smelly bathrooms :) I will be glad to share all the trouble I will no-doubt encounter :p just goes with the territory. Sorry I won't get to meet you this time though. :(

I'm really sorry to miss you as well! You totally crack me up! :p Well, at least the Courtyards are very consistant, you won't have to worry about that hotel! I hope you will get to do a ride w/Tiff!

What other rides are on your agenda for this year? So far I'm doing Wildflower, Sunrise (Lodi), Sierra (not Eastern, but its on the same day), Healdsburg, and Cool Breeze.... been off the bike for a while though so for most of these, I'm opting for shorter options. I'm hoping to add some others but I don't know for sure... I'd love to do 3 harbors again as well....

That is so funny Trac...I was just about to delete 3 harbors off my planned ride list 2 minutes ago but got sidetracked with my dogs.....but only because I hadn't heard anything about it......not a peep. PM me your regular email address and I will send you over my planned ride spreadsheet.....(sound ridiculous) it is trust me :)
By any stretch of the imagination are u coming down to vegas for the tour de fire.....you should hitch a ride with M.E.

OMG!!! That is too funny, you actually have a spreadsheet!?!?!? I did the metric at 3 harbors last year and it was a really nice route :p If I remember correctly the support/sag stops weren't as good as some of the other rides but it was fine (I think its a fairly new ride). If I go, I'll probably opt for the metric again... but ya never know ;)

I just got it! WOW!! That is WAY cool! You should definately do Cool Breeze... I think a lot of the SoCal crew is doing the double metric, I'm doing the century. I might do lighthouse as well, it depends on whether or not I have any extra $$$ and time!

I'm not doing Vegas (I wanted to do it last year but it was cancelled) this year... I am actually up in NorCal now so Vegas is tougher than it would've been from my old house! You and ME are gonna have a blast! I'm looking forward to lots of pics and stories ;)

I heard only great things about cruisin and cool breeze...and why pretell missy are you skipping all these rides..??? Geographical reasons? If so I hear you...I am not looking forward to driving to the sea otters classic. But Solvang wasnt a long drive and Cinderella went by really quick. Are you doing the mammoth century that is in September?

Between registrations, hotels, gas, new cycling clothes ( a must ), a souvenier jersey from every event and going to Outback in every city is breaking me.....I'm going to have to start hanging out on street corners with my bike and a cup to scrounge up my loot for these rides  : or really sign up on www.sugardaddie.com (http://www.sugardaddie.com) :D

PS>>> I think the outback visits are whats really breakin the bank.

Partially geography and partially a childcare issue... okay, a bit of a budget issue as well ;) I'm with ya, those stops at outback can do ya in pretty quickly :roflmao: :roflmao: :roflmao:

okay there missy!!! I don't see any mammoth century on your spreadsheet!!!!! Info??? I might be up for it depending on the date and route options :p I am not up to the long mileage that you've been riding though...I've only done one full century and have pretty much stuck w/the metric stuff...

okay, so hurry... mammoth info... :D

Dang it! I've got the kids the weekends of the Grizzly and this one... so I'll have to pass... unless the weekend changes. It looks like a beautiful ride AND, just over Sonora Pass from me too.... I can do the spooktacular though... probably the Horrible hundred is the most I could manage... and even that is probably biting off too much!! :p ... but a girl's gotta have some goals... besides, if I can get VMC to do it as well, I'll have a great view :D

Here's a wild idea ... with the beautiful terrain up there, how about you lead a ride from there? Of course, you probably wouldn't know me from the next cyclist on the road. At least I wouldn't have to drive 6 hours!
