Hello all,
How long do you use you bike shorts?
I have a real nice pair of Pearl's, don't remember the model name but they are 8 panel and were $110 new.
I have about 2000 miles on them, and they still look great, but the chamois padding seems to be getting thinner, you know, I guess just compressed, and less comfy.
Maybe I'll just use these for shorter rides, and get a new pair for the longer ones. Thinking about trying the Assos to see what all the hoopla is about, but the Pearl Izumi Micro Sensors, I think that was the name, sure were great when new. Will the Assos be comfy past 2,000 miles or just potentialy more comfy for the same 2,000?
Thanks,
Mike
If they start to smell no matter how many times you wash them, throw it out!
Otherwise, I keep on keepin' on with what I got.... :D

hi Koffee,
i have p.i. microsensor.. they are incredible, still look new after 1.5 years too.. didn't notice any compression but i guess that is good to check out.
i was in a lbs a week ago and saw the new assos bibs, the womens shorts were a little short for my liking but they looked comfy. :)

Er - did you perhaps mean Bike Long Shortevity?
Sorry, I couldn't resist!! :D
I just wear them until I can no longer repair the holes in the black fabric and/or the seams with my needle and thread.
Of course, I also wear undies and seem to have an iron butt, and I also buy the cheapest Nashbar on sale that I can get. You know, like $20.00.
But, they serve me fine. Never had a rash nor a sore nor pain in 14,000 miles. So, I can't complain!!.
Well, bike shorts can wear thin. Whether this is from washing or wearing I dunno. The short probably still looks good on the hanger. But once the cyclist gets out in a group and bends over the fabric stretches and becomes very transparent.

I never ride in a group, so I guess I am OK.:D

Yeah, in our group it's kind of self-policing; when someone gets tired of riders behind him making moon comments or counting the hairs on his butt out loud he eventually takes the hint. Of course it doesn't work with me because I wear pretty flower print underwear under mine. Wait, did I say that out loud? :o
