Classic & Vintage - Handlebar conversion?

Hello everyone, first post! I have an 80's Panasonic Villager, which I have owned since I was 13 (10 years ago). I also have an identical parts bike. The one I use has aftermarket "T" handlebars. I am attempting to take the curved "racing" handlebars off the parts bike and put it on this one.

I have taken it off completely except I cannot figure out how to remove it properly, with regards to the brake lines. How do I take the brake lines out? I can supply more information if this does not make sense. I can see that there is a slot where the cable hooks in at the handlebars, I have removed that. But I cannot take the cable out from the handlebar assembly. I would like to use the cables on my main bike, so I just need to take these cables out. Best I can explain it. Thanks!

First, if you have not already done so, detach the brake centerwires at the calipers. Next, squeeze the brake handles, and you should be able to see how the solder balls at the ends of the centerwires engage the handles. In most cases, it is simply a matter of pushing the centerwire toward the brake handle.

With the centerwire removed, it should now be very easy to remove the cable housings themselves, unless they are covered with handlebar tape, which must be unwrapped first.

My bike project is complete!

Took two Panasonic Villagers, rusted out and non running, and made one perfect bike.

I will definitely take pictures ASAP. The handlebar conversion went over perfectly. Just had two stop at the bike shop and buy a new brake cable as the other one was too short.
