About those funny accents. When I was growing up, everyone told me what lovely accents my parents had. I could not hear them--they were simply how my parents sounded. It wasn't until I heard other English people that I heard accents. I don't have a real English accent, but I don't sound like an American, either. My intonation is quite clipped, and I don't say things like 'fer=for'.

People in the UK don't hear me quite as an American, people in the US don't quite hear me as a Brit.

yeah, maybe that's why I hate them. speaking of health, one of the screws in my leg may be getting removed, and supposedly, it's not such a big procedure. the doctor said they would just have to make a "knick in the skin" and take out the screw... sounds a little fishy to me.
