Touring - Totally Insane

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Has anyone read this and been as amazed as I was by their philosophy,
luck and physical fitness?

Those are some amazing pictures. (Just made one of them my background) I haven't read their text, but I can't imagine their experience was anything short of spectacular.

Looks like these guys were hauling next to nothing.

Read the text, their descriptions of Tibet, the Gobi and how they found food are amazing, inspirational
and convince me that I'd never do it. Only the insane would set off into the Gobi desert with one liter of water and no food, its amazing that they survived.
Their equipment list is scary, its almost non-existant

Those crazy Crane boys did all sorts of wacky adventure trips in the 1980s-- raised a whole bunch of money for Intermedate Technologies, a top shelf charity.
A very good read.
