Commuting - Silly question for New Yorkers

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Is it possible to go from NYC to Jersey City on bike? The only ways I see into NJ involve Holland Tunnel, Lincoln Tunnel, (http://www.mapquest.com/directions/main.adp?go=1&do=nw&rmm=1&1gi=0&un=m&1da=-1.000000&1rc=L1AAA&cl=EN&qq=1ADqpk24ofCLOmbEMlx6ZbgcSJhggSZKb0ukOmhFy5l%252b7MrJkyGSD8kW46bvjIsrHJzn42gNr2j51%252bQpzyzWqp%25 2bsqe9hqTJPfwXRIv0xawezxy1l6vDqP72ZEt4U3eIf2%252f3fzBQFDWSfx4g%252bkT%252b%252fI9zxpGY1U8N1bSo2I6G%2 52b3UE6e5GFgaG8oNrxW0b8aDVzKuOj8gkCVCY%253d&ct=NA&1si=navt&rsres=1&1y=US&1ffi=&1l=IMAkUBwoMrtbxUo4s7hqWA%253d%253d&1g=ZajGhqWx%252bM3meVIMrrQgTw%253d%253d&1pl=&1v=ADDRESS&1n=HUDSON+COUNTY&1pn=&1a=700+STATE+RT+440&1c=JERSEY+CITY&1s=NJ&1z=07304-1094&2y=US&2ffi=&2l=&2g=&2pl=&2v=&2n=&2pn=&2a=&2c=NEW+YORK&2s=NY&2z=10002&panelbtn=2) and a bit out of my way the NJ Turnpike.

GW Bridge, also a bit out of your way. A good ride, though.
Do they allow bikes on NY Waterway ferries?

Bikes are allowed on the ferries, but it's pricey.

GWB or take the PATH or ferry. Or invest in pontoons.
I very much appreciate the responses.
But it all seems fairly unreasonable just for some iHOP. Rather than going all the way to Washington Heights to go over the GWB, I might as well stop at 135 st, which is already out of the way.

Yeah, because we all know that Manhattan has a shortage of independently-owned diners and coffee shops from which you can get some pancakes.
I very much appreciate the responses.

There's an IHOP in Staten Island, and the ferry ride even with a bike is free.

harlem has at least one ihop
+1 on the awesome breakfast food all over the city, especially various brunch spots. My favorite are the taverns ("on Dean" and "on Jane")

The real question is why would anyone want to go to Jersey in the first place?

To get rid of the body. Red Hook's too crowded w/ witnesses.

Is Bubby's Pie Company still in business, on Hudson in Tribeca? Best breakfast I've ever eaten.
