Okay, so the weather has been really sucky for the last 10 days... rain, rain, rain. Today was the Open House for Calabogie Peaks (Chairlift/DH), and well, it was sooooo muddy, I didn't take my camera on any of the runs, but I got some cool shots at the base of the hill. Here they are!

They had a radar gun and had a contest to clock the fastest rider.. even in muddy and wet conditions, it was up somewhere aroudn 70km/h!

 "it was up somewhere aroudn 70km/h!"
WOW! I've hit 40 even on a road around my house but there isn't any large hills to pick up the kind of speed you mentioned! That's just crazy...
 <--- I just had to add another one of these guys. :D

Heh, check this out, we have loads of hills!! :) You can sort of see in the background, and this is the last 10% or so of the hill. Calabogie is a ski hill, but they open in the summer for us nutjobs...

Point it downhill and pedal.....40 mph aint that much I guess, i'd have to get a bigger ring:D
I'm sure my few inches of travle on the Sid Team fork wouldn't do me much good at those speeds. One of these days I may buy a downhill rig.. I wouldn't mind being able to romp on the bike and still be able to take all of it home from the trail.

Heh, I only have a 32 in the front... so yeah, I'd be falling faster than I could pedal anyway... but when you have enough gravity, you're just holding on for life at that point... :)

Oh yeah! I've been slacking. Great name you have there. :D
