You'll have no respect at first. Grow some balls and keep trying new things. You'll gain your "respect" at the park, but you need to be..brave..and don't worry about what other people think.

Just go to the park and try to be friendly with the guys and not act like an ass. Don't try to show off or be bossy and just ride. Riding brings people together, and that is all you will need to do.

Then keep practicing so you can become less green.

Don't worry about it- everyone had to start off somehow. If you are that shy about everything, then take to the streets and try to bunnyhop and manual and such, and then when you get that down, go to the park.

Hit the parking lots for a few days/weeks until you can bunnyhop up a curb and at least pull up a manual and set it back down without crashing, consistently, then you'll be a little more confident to try some stuff at the park.

could anyone write my a list of easiest tricks there are ????

FitRider 921
04-07-07, 09:18 PM
Bunnyhop
Manual
The two core basic tricks you need to master. It'll take you a while to get even semi-good at them, so just keep practicing them. They are al you need to learn right now. After that, you can try some x-ups, barspins, and nosemanuals.

His specialty is the hop to manual to leg snap.

I'm good at the back flip to body slam, I got them dialed.

FitRider 921

My last trick was a hop to manual to shatter my leg in three places and be on crutches and be unable to ride for eight months.

EDIT: WTP, you stole my thunder. I want it back.

benas1281

wethepeople

Fell while jumping a bicycle up a ledge.

FitRider 921
04-07-07, 09:32 PM
I just told you. Hop to manual, except it was a very high speed hop to manual. I don't think I will ever go half that speed ever again.

benas1281
04-07-07, 09:33 PM
how many years u been riding???

This guy might as well be a racer with the way he rides, so fast.

5 years big bikes, 3ish little bikes.

MadMan2k
04-07-07, 09:39 PM
Almost 3 years big bikes, 1 year little bikes here. Except I basically stopped riding MTB when I got my BMX bike a year ago, so that might be 2 years.

FitRider 921
04-07-07, 09:46 PM
Just don't do anything stupid like myself and you will be fine. I know plenty of people that do big tricks and have been riding for years and have never broken anything or gotten hurt.

wethepeople
04-07-07, 09:46 PM
Then stay small.

benas1281

ok a stupid question

benas1281
04-07-07, 09:55 PM
ok thank you for your answers i kinda feel more confident now

FitRider 921
04-07-07, 09:55 PM
When you break a bone, it hurts- the more bones you break, and the worse you break them (the more they come out of alignment), the more it hurts. When you first break something you just get all panicy and just don't feel right and are pretty much unable to get up... or atleast that's how it was for me.

benas1281

i saw some trail pics their sick do you people really ride like those ???

Fed3ral
04-07-07, 10:05 PM
I know fit doesn't want to say anything because he has a good chance of becoming a mod soon..Stop asking dumb questions. They probably wouldn't build them if they didn't ride them..

FitRider 921
04-07-07, 10:30 PM
I was being nice, because apparently I am super mean to all the noobs. All I was going to say was that he didn't need to make a new thread for every question.

Fed3ral
04-07-07, 10:40 PM
I wouldn't say SUPER mean..

FitRider 921
04-07-07, 10:48 PM
I'm glad you wouldn't, but others do, although I consider myself nicer to noobs than most people.

That roof gap at the end is crazy!

FitRider 921

He sure likes to manual... and that roof gap was pretty much suicide, especially since there was no where to land.

MadMan2k

That's insane.. I wouldn't hit anything that would mean I would die if I didn't pull it.

FitRider 921

Just a bit too much pressure... imagine if his chain snapped.

And I thought I was a nutter for throwing myself out of a perfectly good airplane. At least I had a parachute.

benas1281, don't worry about feeling awkward and shy. It's tough to approach people you don't know, especially if you think they might make fun of you. It's all part of seeing if you're able to handle a bit of razzing. If you are eager to learn, and have respect for the people who are showing you things, they will probably be happy to teach you more. Most people really enjoy teaching someone else, as long as the new person shows enthusiasm and really tries to learn.

We really do like new people to come and talk to us here, just remember that a lot of the folks here have heard these same questions a lot of times! And be patient, we aren't on here 24 hours a day, even if it seems that way.

As the guys said, if you go out to a parking lot, and practice some of the moves, you'll be a bit more confidant when you go to the park. I can bunnyhop, and that's about it. But I don't care, it's the joy of riding the bike that matters.
