You love to ride your bike. In fact, you can't imagine life without bicycles. There is an event coming up in which you can ride your bike (up to 3000 miles) and change lives around the world as you cross America. It is the "Ride for Mobility 2007". Reader's Digest Everyday Hero Don Schoendorfer, founder of Free Wheelchair Mission, and co-founder Dr Mike Bayer are embarking on a bike ride across America to raise awareness and donations for their mission—to deliver free wheelchairs - 15,000 wheelchairs - to needy people around the world.

Get the scoop at this website http://ride4mobility.org (http://ride4mobility.org/).

Brian was too awesome to create this forum for charities and we thank him! JOIN THE ULTIMATE RIDE and and see the "chatter", find riding buddies, or sign up as a fundraiser and be a "virtual" rider from where you are now using this thread. With our real-time GPS LOCATOR you can see where the team is and join up with them when they are in your area - ride a mile or 100 miles with them!

This is an awesome event, and a great way to make a difference. I hope we get some member participation.

I know Don Schoendorfer and Dr. Michael Bayer personally. They are not professional or even seasoned long distance cyclists. They are passionate men who sincerely want to make a significant change in the lives of 100's of thousands of people by providing mobility. By getting people out of the dirt and mud where they live with rats and filth. They are willing to spend 6+ weeks in a grueling bike ride to bring awareness and raise funds for Free Wheelchair Mission. I'll do the last 100 miles or so with them here as they finish the trip into Orange County, CA.

This forum is a great place for people to hook up to join them on the ride. See the first post for details on where to go to register of donate.
