General Cycling Discussion - In Montreal- seeking partner for Tour de I'lle....

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I'm in Montreal for the next week, and I'm thinking of doing this bike ride, and I'm hoping someone who is not in a hurry (hint, hint) who is also registering. Is there anyone in Montreal that can pity a slower rider? ;)
Also, if anyone wants to hang this weekend, I'm open for that too. I kinda don't have plans this weekend either....
Send me a PM if you're interested...

P.S. Unfortunately, I don't know any French.... but I do know a little Italian, a little Yiddish, and a little Spanish!

Mais Francais est un langue tres facile. Cependant, en quebec, ils parlent francais du quebecois et ne pas parisiens
Don't worry Koffee. The majority of Montreal speaks english and you'll get around alright. Enjoy. I'll be in town from the 24th of June till whenever. I may very well be bringing my bike up.

Hey there Koffee Brown, I hope you have a blast there in Montreal and on that Tour d'lille.. I did that ride last year, and it is just amazing seeing 40 thousand cyclists on the start on boulvard st joseph, I was sooo happy to be a part of it and to be able to expierence it last year.....Don't worry to much about the language stuff, I don't know french either, but as long as you say something in english first when you run into somebody, they will know to speak to you in english..But their first language of choice will be to respond in french, so I normally ask them if they speak english, or say hello or something friendly in english first, so they know..
Enjoy the ride, it will be very cool..

Don't worry, most of the people who do the Tour are slower riders. There is an 'express' version for faster types but it leaves earlier.

Oui, c'est vrai! J'ai seulement etudie le francais pour deux annees a mon ecole et je peux deja le dire bien (ou je pense que je peux).
Anyways, have fun and remember, the cycling community doesn't care how fast you ride! (Which is still a lot faster than me!)
