Road Cycling - flat

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

So on sat. i get a front flat,a slow leak and i was only about 2 miles from home.I already had rode 18.I was about 100 yards from a park so i would like it better fixing it there. When i ride i always ask if somebody needs anything if they are working on there bike.As i walked my bike, front wheel up in the air,at least 5-6 riders past me with no words at all.You know, thats sucks.
probably punctured because you over inflated your tyres. See that max pressure theory goes straight out the window

That does suck.
If I see a cyclist broken down, I always ask if they need anything. I've repaired flats and fixed chains. I've loaned tools. I've gotten my hands dirty. I've been offered money but always reply "Pay it forward." One day it may come back to me. If nothing else, I've made my world a little better.
It's a shame that no one offered to help you. It's wrong. Don't let that make you bitter. Don't you stop helping others. If everyone else in the world is a butthead, it doesn't mean you should be one too. Treat others the way you want to be treated.

Man, that is the lesson to be learned here - no doubt!

My last set of tires had 3500 miles and no flats with max air and before that i had 3000 with 1 flat so throw out the max air theory.Max psi isnt over inflating, over max psi is.

Shokhead, don't let it get to you. Like you, I always offer my assistance and/or spare parts to bikers/walkers/bladers when I see them along the side of the bike path.
I've flatted twice and not everybody offered assistance, but when someone did, they were kind enough to give me their spare tire (both time, the spare I had with me were bad). Anyway, not everybody offer assistance, and yes, it bothered me a little, but the people that slowed down and offered their assistance when I was fixing my flat made me feel really good about cyclists, in general. Kinda made my proud to be amongst them.
Keep offering your assistance, it does make people feel really good to know that someone cares and that they are not strained and alone.
