:D
Glad to find a good forum! Mountain biker trying out the road and loving it. I picked up a used cannondale (1989 model) in mint condition from a retired air force friend, which fit me perfectly. I put $113 dollars into it for new tires, saddle, bar wraps, and a tune up and now I'm addicted to road riding. I'm averaging 30 miles a week on a paved path at a local lake, but just up'd that to 50 last week and did my first ride in traffic. I am AMAZED at the immediate fitness benefits road riding is providing me. I increased my mountain bike endurance by nearly 50% in just 2 weeks on my road bike. If I don't ride 2 days in a row, I MISS it.
I am a member of the one of the best mountain bike clubs in the states, the Oklahoma Earthbike Fellowship, as well as, the Oklahoma Mountain Bike Patrol. Nearly all our core members road and mb, and these guys are the most dedicated and friendly people I could hope to associate with. I've hosted a women's skills clinic, in which 37 gals from around the state showed up, and now I regularly host women's and beginners mb rides...I'm adding road to that shortly and hopefully going to do a road skills clinic as well.
Anyway...'hello'!!
