Hello from NH.

I have a few questions about a used road bike I'm considering purchacing. The frame is a 1999 Bianchi Mega Pro Xl Marco Pantani team replica. The size is 55 cm with a stand-over height of 31.5 in. but I don't know other geometry.

I'm 6' with a 34" inseam (cycling) and my initial thought is that this frame would be too small but the seller said he's 5'11" and the bike is a "snug fit." Can anyone offer any info about this frame? Thanks.

Is this local to you? It does depend on the geometry...if possible, you would probably want to check it out in person.

Unfortunately it's not local. The price is right and the specs are good so I am very tempted, but I know purchasing through the interweb is tough. I was hoping some folks knew about the 1999 model Bianchis in terms of general sizing.

You may have to try this question in the Road Cycling forum then. I know, those guys are brutal :( .

But I definitely can't help (for one thing, I'm five feet tall...:D ).

Good luck.

Probably too small for you. I'm 6'-0" with a 30" inseam and both my bikes are 57 cm.
