View Full Version : Dealers in Reno/Tahoe/SAC/Bay Area
I'm looking for a recumbent and, not being very familiar with them, want to go to a good dealer and try a few. My priorities are touring comfort and the ability to climb hills. I like high handlebars and not having my feet stuck out in front of the front wheel, though maybe I could get used to that. Ability to add saddlebags also important. Purchase becomes less and less likely the farther the price rises above $1000. Any suggestions on bike or dealers appreciated.
PS: thanks, baetis!

LWB... around a grand... I think that describes a RANS Stratus LE or 'Ranschetta' Agio, especially if you can find them used, or a used TourEasy.
Dchiefransom: Dang, Spin Cyclz has a beautiful VK2, complete with tailbox, and I don't have the fundage in place for a new bike yet! And it's my size! ARRRRGH!!!

I'll second the pointer to http://www.tandems-recumbents.com/. The website never quite got finished, but Rick Steel and the shop are both top-notch. I bought my RANS V2 from them in 2001 and they have been good to me all these years. They have many brands and models to test ride, but you need to make an appointment so Rick can give you his full attention.
