BMX - when did

I don't have feelings because I'm a real man.
Now excuse me while I go beat some mothers with their own newborn babies.

I care! Don't wanna lose an OG :)

I have a question. What does OG even mean? And what are the red stars for?
East Hill

OG= Original Gangsta. Red stars belong to members who have paid for a membership (only $25 for a lifetime of belonging :D ). Or, you could win one if you want to write an essay:

Wrote an essay, figured it was worth a shot, and I love riding more then enough to write a few paragraphs about it.

Thanks mude, it does make it easier, doesn't it :D .

Excellent, there really haven't been that many people writing, so you have a pretty good chance (and I haven't even gone to take a look yet).

Personally I think your essay is great
If you can't win with that one, I don't know who would win. It's expressive, it flows well, and it gets right to the point of why we ride bikes.
Good luck!

Go Fuzzy! I hope you win. We need some more red stars in this section. The only people that have them are Mude, New Dharma, and East Hill. You better win... not that there is any pressure on you or anything.

I was going to pay for my membership, but it didn't except pre-paid american express cards. I think i'm going to see if i can just mail a $25 one to Expat or Joe Gardner. And then they can pay for me...

You could go for the contest in Foo, too. There's five stars being handed out. The more red stars the merrier. It's really different without the adverts...:D .

I just realized by you saying that, that I don't have the advertisements anymore. It's not that big of a difference.

It's a lot cleaner look, at least on the main page. It's not quite so different within the individual forums, though.
Bigger avatar though. I don't think either of you two have changed your avatars--they could be larger, like mine.

I think i'm going to write something up. I want a big avatar.
EDIT: :( They closed the thread. I had just finished brainstorming too.

Congratulations to FuzzyRyder! He won a red star with his entry in the Foo thread...I hope he doesn't mind me putting his entry here:
Here's one for BMX. I'm sure alot of you can relate though.
I don’t believe in religion, but riding my bike for me is about as close as it could get to me believing in one. It gives me something to rave about, to obsess about, to look forward to, and to set me free and not care what others think about what I am doing. People wonder how I can go off and ride my bike for hours and hours everyday. Learning new tricks, but also abusing my body. They don’t understand because it’s something you have to experience for yourself to understand. All they can see is something that seems stupid to be doing, considering the injuries that you can get.
When I ride, getting hurt is not something I think about. It’s not something that happens nearly as often as the good things that come from riding, and it’s not something you want to happen often, or look forward to. All the amazing things that bike riding brings to my life easily outweigh the risk of sustaining an injury, and to the people that ride and know this, getting hurt is a risk we are willing to take. Doing something new, and stomping a new trick, or riding a new park for the first time is the most amazing feeling ever. The satisfaction is like nothing else, and it makes me want to be able to stay on my bike forever. Even the feeling of riding fast through a nice curvy bowl with good lines, or a super flowy park with nice high vert walls to carve just sets me off. It makes me feel free, and I forget about all the problems in the world, and don’t even care about anything but the breeze though my hair, and all the fun it is to me.
Riding has taken me to so many places, and brought me to meet so many amazing people, it’s like a dream. I love to meet other riders and have a good session with them, or share riding stories, and show each other new spots. BMX has shown me things I could not have experienced without it, and I am still so young and have so much to see and experience. I don’t think I could live without my bike. Riding is something I can truly believe in, and care about. No matter how I’m feeling, a good ride will always cheer me up, or make me happier then I already am, and that to me is worth getting on my bike. Whether I get hurt or not, there is usually a good story to tell.
