How come there aren't any computers made in England?
It's too hard to get a computer to leak oil.

Has to be some joke about Lucas electronics that applies here.
Agreed, the answer WOULD be some sort of Lucas reference. The leaking oil would be appropriately referenced;
Q: Why dosen't Harley make computers?
A: They haven't figured out how to make them leak oil. :)

Many decades ago when I worked with foreign cars we called Lucas the demon of darkness.

Probably why computers aren't made in England is that they keep getting the wrong answer because of positive ground...

Harley??? No!!! Even brand new BSA's, Nortons & Triumphs leaked oil. The Harley comment that I remember is:
The Harley Pig-a-son design philosophy: If it breaks, make it bigger. If it sticks out, chrome it.

Forgot to add this... I think the observation on the integrity of English electrics has to do with the eternal question of why the English insist on drinking their beer warm - 'cause all they have to keep it cool are English refrigerators.

Lucas switches have three modes of operation: ON, OFF and FLICKER.
