Greetings All,

I am getting back on the bike again after being off for far too long.

I did competitive MTB racing (just sport class) for about 4 years and used road riding as my training when I couldn't get to a trail with little or no usage conflicts. Crowded trails are no fun, so why bother?

I am back on the road bike because

A) I need to lose some weight
B) I am going to to the California Coast Classic Arthritus Ride.

So I figured if I was going to raise $2800 for the Arthritus Foundation, I might as well be able to make good on my word and finish the ride.

I am going to train awhile on my old Univega with the elite RSX components on it, then probably step into an Alize with 105 or Ultegra.

My off road ride is a recently assembled K2 OZ frame with full XT and avid discs. a HUGE improvment over my ProFlex 855. It was an interesting experiance building my own MTB from parts. should make it a much more enjoyable ride knowing I did it myself.

Welcome to the BikeForums! Looks like we're getting quite a SF Bay area contingent here. What color's the Univega? Just in case our paths cross somewhere on Foothill or "The Loop".

I am living in Hong Kong . Recently I found a MTB brand name (fre-flex) mode 855 .I search through internet about this (fre-flex) but in vain. Later on I found an info from a forums that a germany guy said fre-flex is same as pro-flex. And also I saw your post that you have a pro-flex 855 bike. May I have the picture of your bike thank You!!!!!!!!!!!I also want to know about the performance about the pro-flex 855. Now I can buy this bike in Hong Kong on the price US$ about 200 but that is not the new one however the condition is quite good.Do you think that is a reasonable price? The frame is green in color and the real suspence is yellow in colour.
Thank You for your help!!!!
I am sorry about that my english is no good.

Never heard of Pro-Flex. Usually bikes have a sticker on the head tube saying where they are made. Just look around for such a sticker on your frame. Welcome to bikeforums!
